Happy International Zine Month!
In honor of all things zines for the month of July, the Toronto Zine Library is hosting TWO nights of zine making. Everyone is welcome, from those who haven’t cut and glued paper together since grade school to seasoned zine-making vets. Never made a zine? Not to worry – we’ll have folks around who’d be happy to help you! Just need a supportive work environment to complete a project you’ve already started? That’s what we’re here for!
Night 1 – Sunday 23 July – will be in the Toronto Zine Library, 2nd floor of the Tranzac. We regret that our space is not wheelchair accessible. (limited space available)
Night 2 – Sunday 30 July – will be in the TIki Room on the 1st floor of the Tranzac. This event will be wheelchair accessible. (more space available)
We’ll have scissors, glue sticks, pens, pencils, sharpies, paper and a questionably functioning long-arm stapler on hand for your creative pursuits. Some old magazines will be avaialble for graphics, or feel free to bring your own!
We’ll also have a “leave-a-zine, take-a-zine” table for zine trades! Feel free to bring copies of your zine to trade or donate to the TZL collection.
In keeping tradition with typical TZL events, we will be having a pot-luck! Feel free to bring food. To minimize risk, we kindly ask that all food brought be peanut- and nut-free; please also note the ingredients in your dish. You’re also welcome to bring the recipe for recipe swaps!
We ask that attendees kindly refrain from wearing any scented products. This will be a sober event.
