Exactly what is the size of a mini zine?

    • It’s generally 1/8 of a standard sheet of paper. In the US, it’s 1/8 of letter size paper, which is 4.25″ x 2.75″. Most mini zines are 8 pages long, but can be 16 pages long or even 32 pages long in some cases (made of 2 sheets of paper). I would call anything smaller than 1/8 (like 1/16 size) a micro zine.

      • My first zine measures 4 1/8″ x 2 7/8″, which I guess is close enough to the measurement you mentioned. I don’t know if I ever want to make the mini size zines. It kind of limits what you can fit into it.

    • If you check out our Zine Making 101 page there’s a link to a “Make This Zine” mini zine followed by a mini zine template 🙂

      Zine Making 101

      • Thanks, I’ve read all that on Zine Making 101. I don’t plenty of research about zines before making my first zine. I’m familiar with a lot of stuff since I use to publish newsletters back in the 8o’s. The research was very helpful, as I am a little rusty since it’s been so many years since I did the newsletters. I’m a hands-on kind of person. I did all the writing, paste-up, photography, collating the pages, going to the printer, distribution too. I may even use some of my articles from the newsletters to make zines. I even did some catooning back then. I’m a jack-of-all-trades!
